The Cousin Brothers

These guys are all brothers.  Well, they call each other brothers.  They are mostly just cousins.

So then they say, well, we are cousin brothers.  It's great!

One guy is a friend, but the others are indeed, cousins.

These guys are posing in order of their baptisms, chronologically.  What an amazing sight to see them together and to feel the Spirit of the work as they join the church and feel the light and peace of the gospel!  What a great missionary Mike has been in his family!

So first we have Mike (Bhuvanesh), on the far left, then Jake (Shanta Kumar), Terence, Hashavardin, Suresh, Vijayraj, Jay Kumar, Sunil Albert, Karthick.

This is the baptismal day of Sunil Albert, the cousin brother on the far right.  He is being baptized by Jay Kumar on the left with Hashavardin in the middle.

Post Lunch Tradition Continues

You know, consistency is one of the keys to success.

We continue to take our after lunch photo whenever we have people over.

It's the only payment I require for the meal that I've prepared and served!

The meal:
We had cheeseburgers and potato salad with white chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

The cleaning up:
The Priesthood in Action, right here, right now!
 Men at work!
 I actually said smile...
Elder Kumar is getting Elder Sharma warmed up for the big event!
 They're having some fun, right?
Elder Sharma likes to be in control.
I wish I could see how impressed Elder Vinck's family is now.  In my blog statistics, the name Vinck is the highest searched name that brings up my blog.  Pretty interesting!
Elder Sharma is taking full advantage of the remote control.

The photo:
This is the best picture.  Everyone is looking good here, I think.
We have, in the back left: Elder Fitzpatrick, from Alaska; Elder P. Kumar, an OCI from Utah; Elder Vinck, an Assistant, also OCI, from Melbourne, Australia; Elder Sharma, an Assistant, from right here in Bangalore!

(Do you remember what OCI stands for?  Overseas Citizen of India.  It means someone who has some Indian ancestry (a parent or grandparent) that was born abroad, someplace other than India.)

I think we have, here in Indiranagar Branch, the overall tallest Elders in the Mission!

Everyone likes a little fun, horsing around after the good shot.
 Elder Wigg, lookin' sooo good!
Yes, Elder Wigg is getting the full treatment!
This must be the 'cool-down' after the photo session.

10 for YSA Family Home Evening!

Saturday evening we had 10 Young Single Adults at our place for Family Home Evening.

Kannagi, my cleaning lady, made dahl, in the far bowl, and rotis, the flat bread in the near bowl.  I made the Chicken Biryani in the big pot.  It was my first attempt and it was good.  I used too much rice, I think, which I will change next time I make it.
The meal was a success.  Everyone ate and talked and enjoyed themselves.

 Mike, Terence, Ashish and Serah
Elder Wigg taught the lesson on stories from the Book of Mormon.
Right now he's on his 'Rameumptom'.
 He is a good teacher.
He can be serious when needed...
...funny at times...(I don't know how he can still wear those sheepskin slippers in India? It's way too hot, in my opinion.)
...quite entertaining and animated at times. (Now I'm up on the Rameumptom!)
 This is Jasmin and Camy.
We had white chocolate cheesecake for dessert as well as the standard banana bread and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.  I think everyone got their tummies full.
 Rani, Mike, Terence
 Ashish and Serah.
Serah will be going on her mission to Salt Lake, Temple Square the middle of September.  She is all ready with her US Visa and even her flight has been booked.  Good for you, Serah!
Ashish served his mission here in the India Bangalore Mission.
He even served as an Assistant in the office with Elder Pimsakul just before we came on our mission.  He left to go home to Delhi about 2 weeks before we arrived.
back row: Sister Wigg, Elder Wigg, Mike, Terence
middle row: Jennifer, Jasmin, Serah, Ashish
front row: Camy, George, Gracy, Rani
This is a great bunch of young adults, and almost young adults (some of the girls are still in Young Womens).
 funny face photo
(ok, so some of us don't have to make a funny face, we already have a funny face!)
We had a fun family night!
Next time bring more friends as we had too much Biryani left over.

A Sweet Experience!

It was totally wonderful and sweet to attend the Temple in Hong Kong and accompany the Kumar Family.  We had the opportunity to be in the temple 5 days in a row, which is a record for us.

It was such a sweet experience to serve the Lord and Kumar's.

A Tasty Experience!

We had a wonderful time and a delicious lunch at a nice restaurant in the Diamond Hill Mall!

This is the oriental pattern on the plate. So cool.
 Elder Wigg - hungry
We each had a coke to go with our meal.  Some people think that coke will kill all the bad bacteria in their food, but I can't see that, can you?

We had dim sum.
The fried rice was fabulous.  It had veggies and pork and shrimp.  So good.
The spring rolls were good, too.
These are dumplings: pork on the left and shrimp on the right.  They were very tasty.
For dessert we had mango pudding with cream.  It was to die for delicious.
The paintings and wallpaper were beautiful and made a lovely and calming ambiance in the room.

This is Jimmy Chan, the proprietor.  He came out and chatted for a bit.  He said he wanted to make sure we were happy with our meal.  We were, indeed, happy.
This is the entranceway to the restaurant.
Yup, proof that we were actually there.  That's us!
This is the restaurant symbol and the name below in Chinese, but I don't know the name in English.
I only know it was great food, located at Diamond Hill Mall, in Hong Kong.
Diamond Hill Mall is located right across the street from Nan Lian Garden.
