A Fun Date

We went out for a fun date with Elder & Sister Kellerstrass to our favorite Tex Mex Restaurant.

Yes, you guessed it, 'Habanero'!

We had a great dinner.  We all loved it, so that's nice.

The funny thing was that we all had Fajitas!  3 of us had Chicken and 1 had Prawns (shrimp).

And as if this wasn't enough food, we went next door to 'Swensen's' and had giant ice cream deserts.
I wish I had remembered to take a picture.  Sorry, but we enjoyed it anyway.  Next time.

Eventful Weekend

This has been an eventful Weekend.

Firstly, Elder Tewari finished his mission and went home to the USA.

Elder Tewari with President Funk.

Secondly, we spent a lovely date night out with Elder and Sister Kellerstrass.
They are a wonderful couple that we have totally enjoyed getting to know.  We also really appreciate the help with special projects around the office which they have willingly and efficiently accomplished.
But they really want to get back to Sri Lanka.  It's hard to be patient waiting for a visa to be extended!

We ate dinner at the 'Highnote' Restaurant on 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar. It was great.
There is another restaurant/bar downstairs called 'B Flat'.  Funny!

Thirdly, we went for lunch at the Mission Home on Sunday.
This is Elder & Sister Heiner from Hong Kong.
They are on a Medical Service Mission for the Church. They are travelling around the mission checking out certain hospitals to see which are the best to send our Elders when they need something.  They are wonderful and it is a great service they are doing!

The Brethren, in a tight spot!  (3 in the back of the 7 seater Ford Explorer type)

Fourthly, Sister Domnic is going on her mission!!
She had her call to serve on Temple Square back in August, I think.  She has been preparing and then waiting since then.  So she finally, about 2 weeks ago, got her final visa packet to finish the application process.  She went for her interview on 6th Feb, got her visa on the 9th. We booked her flights on the 10th and she took the train into Bangalore with her family on the 11th.  She was set apart on 12th Feb, flew out on the 13th and reported to the MTC in Provo on time on the 14th!!  So crazy!
This is President William and President Funk with Sister Domnic and her family after her setting apart.
 Sister Domnic with her Parents
Sister Domnic will be a wonderful asset to the efforts and teaching on Temple Square!
Sister Domnic stayed overnight at our apartment and we were able to have a really good visit.
She is a sweet young lady and has a great testimony and desire to serve.  She is tiny, about 5 feet tall, and has long black hair, down past her bottom.

Here she is at the airport, with passport in hand, ready to check in for her flight.
We had to get up at 4 am to get her to the airport on time.

She is going to have the time of her life!  She will meet so many wonderful people and have such great companions.  She will probably make some lifelong friends during this 1 1/2 years! As well, she will build an even stronger base for her future family and develop some amazing leadership skills.
Good luck, bye for now!

Fly Back

Jerome did a quick fly back to Hyderabad to rent apartments and buy furnishings for them.

Elder Kellerstrass and Jonas went with him and together they had a successful 2 day trip.
They stayed at the Marriott near West Marredpally.
This is the view from the Hotel balcony.  It's a pretty view of Hyderabad.
These planter boxes were located on the hotel grounds.
Near one of the apartments being rented was a field of cattle.

There were also goats wandering along the road.  Look at the ears on these guys! They're huge!
This the small hotel next door doing their laundry.  Very interesting.

A Walk in the Park

On Saturday, our preparation day, after doing our grocery shopping and eating out lunch at the Mexican Restaurant (See Mexican Food Fest), we went for a walk in the park.

Baskar took us to a nearby park which boasts a jogging track and boat rides.

This is K R Puram Kere.

The park is nicely maintained and lovely today with a slight breeze blowing.

This is the jogging track with benches along to rest.
 Here is the boating dock.
There were many large birds in the trees; Grey Heron (shown here) and Cormorants and Pelicans plus a few Little Egrets.
Grey Heron, in flight, is a majestic bird.

He is fishing and she is rowing.  This is a traditional boat, just a circle or bowl of plastic.

This lake is full of fish.  Here, look closely and you can see the suckers eye and mouth.
Gorgeous Bougainvillea along the jogging track.
This was a bridge too far.
Indian Pond Heron in flight shows his white wings.
This is a shot of the houses that border the lake.  They are large and pretty houses.

These next 4 pictures are artistic in nature.  I love the colors and God's creative artwork in the shapes and patterns in the water.  Take a moment and just enjoy them.

Pretty, eh?

This is a great shot of the underbelly of this spider.
Who says there are no Mallards in this part of India.
The coloring is a little different, but it sure looks like a Mallard to me.
There were lots of birds to see.  It was a beautiful day.
White-browed Wagtail, a cute little energetic bird.

Mexican Food Fest

On our Preparation Day, we went to a Mexican Restaurant called 'Habanero'.  It was fabulous!

It was a food fest and we had a feast!
Elder Wigg had a burrito, his favourite.
I had chicken enchiladas, which were delicious.
I also had a salad with my enchiladas.  There was fruit with the lettuce, with a sweet dressing.  Mmm!

One of the owners had a piƱata for the children to open.
It was a big hit and the children scrambled for the candy.  Great fun!
