What's Happening?

I'll tell you what's been happening in our mission lately.

Sister Thulasidass finally got her visa to the States and can go on her mission to Temple Square, Salt Lake City.

I put in many hours helping each Elder & Sister go on their mission from India.  I know that they appreciate it.  There is a special bond created between us as we prepare together for them to serve.
 Okay, who's snapping my picture!?
She is so excited to go on her mission, finally after about 6 months.
We enjoyed getting to know her and feeling her sweet spirit as she has prepared to serve.
She was set apart in the evening by President Funk, pictured here with Sister Funk, as well.

My box came from home!
(Uday tied my scarf for me!  Am I stylin' or what?!!?)
I was super excited to get a couple of my skirts, nylons and Jerome's books 'The Work & The Glory'.
But the best part from home was the sweet letter from Kamille.
It made me laugh and cry at the same time and that felt wonderful. Thank you so much!

Saturday night I was preparing food for Sunday lunch.
I love my kitchen, it's so big and comfortable to cook it, just like at home.
I am baking (Magic Bars), Uday is taking (the photo).
Mmmm, fresh cocoanut and chocolate chips from Canada.  Now to add the Condensed Milk on top & bake!
Fresh fruit salad is always my favourite!
Jerome looks hungry.  What do you think?

Brother Kumar with his family.
What a beautiful family Brother Kumar has.  They are members of Bangalore 1st Branch.
This picture is taken in front of the Bangalore 1st Branch building.
It is a lovely spot with good greenery and even better light, in the shade.

Sunday Lunch with the Elders
I made Salad, Penne Pasta with meat sauce, Fried Rice and Garlic Bread.
What a powerful group of priesthood leaders here!
(But what is with the Salad Dressing advertisement?)
Remember the fruit salad I made yesterday?
 Yup, I'm stirrin' it!
Elder Sodadasi, playing to the camera!
I forgot to take the magic bars out of the fridge ahead of time so it was hard to cut them at first.
The fruit was good, but the favourite was the dessert: Magic Bars.
The Sunday Lunch Bunch, for sure!
Elder Sommer, Elder Fitzpatrick, Elder Kumbhakar, Uday Teki, Elder Sodadasi, Elder Smith (Assistant), Elder Sharma (Assistant), with Sister Wigg & Elder Wigg

It has been a fun couple of weeks with so much happening.  I hope you've enjoyed the blog thus far, as much as I have enjoyed preparing it for you.  Make a comment below, if you'd like.

  1. I always enjoy your blog posts! Thanks for keeping us updated. So fun.

P.S. I had to chuckle when you said "fresh coconut from Canada". Really?? Don't we just get the coconut from where YOU are? ; ) Those magic bars are something we haven't had in a long time. Guess who's headed to the kitchen now to make some. Yum! My mouth is watering just looking at your photos.
