We had a Family History Fireside on Wednesday evening in Bangalore 1st Branch. Brother Lorimer spoke about many aspects of Family History (which is one of my favourite topics anyway). He told some wonderful stories about successes in finding lost records, a dinner with President Hinckley, and the 2nd Rescue of the Willie and Martin Handcart Companies. He is an excellent speaker and had us all enwrapped in his storytelling.
Afterwards, in the courtyard just outside the Church, we had cake to celebrate the birthday of Elder Thomas, who will be leaving on his mission in less than 2 weeks. They have a tradition of sharing cake after events in celebration of the birthdays of the members. It's really nice. So Brother Lorimer and Elder Thomas fed each other cake! It was funny!
The cake was delicious accompanied by sprite, and you can see that this little girl is pretty interested!
Last week one of the Sisters in the Branch had a birthday and they fed the whole Branch birthday cake after the meetings. There were about 70 people in attendance, so that's a lot of cake!
